Meet Nicole Rodrigues, brainchild behind one of Middle East’s most popular modellingagencies, Diva Modelling and Events.
Originally from Mumbai, Nicole lived in Bahrain and Copenhagen before eventually deciding to settle and start adivalicious empire in Dubai in 2003. With over 18 years of experience as an international haute couture model, Nicole tells us, “I shifted from being in front of the camera to behind the camera. Unlike most businesspeople setting up model agencies, I had the good fortune of international industry exposure and experience that many of them lacked. Having a business background in the family helped in the fruition of the concept.”

Out of the four Palm Jumeirah homes Nicole Rodrigues owns, she likes this one the best. “We have moved to eight different homes in the first five years here, always looking for something bigger or better. This is the one place we have lived in the longest as it’s just right for us.”
The eight-bedroom villa has a private pool and beach, and was personally decorated by Nicole. “It’s Mediterranean style, with a classic design that’s timeless,” she says.
The white living room is her masterwork, receiving gasps of awe from visiting friends. Her most treasured piece though, is the one that has the most emotional value. “It’s the white piano that my daughter plays.

Nicole Rodrigues speaks like a racing car – even if it is a holiday and her office is empty.
She is in a hurry to capture the modelling business in town, in fact the region, and to continue diversifying her portfolio of enterprises.
She started with a model and hostess supply agency called Diva Modeling and Events in 2003, dove into real estate in 2004, started providing accounting services to small businesses in 2010, and entered the salon and laundry trades last year.
“The businesses are not directly interlinked but support each other like branches in a tree,” she said.
The core business remains the modelling agency.
